A basic shawl collar jacket you can make it dressy also casual and coordinate with any your wardrobe. The shawl collar and rounded hem line make cute retro style. Fitted princess seam lines flatter your figure. Lining pattern included.
I made this sample with mustard colour wool and add contrast fabric on pocket welts and piping.
Newsboy cap size adjustment Tips
I just uploaded 2 sizes of the newsboy cap pattern here.
But, if you still want to adjust little bit bigger or smaller, there are some easy ways to adjust it.
**Adjust length on back side of the hat**
Please check the pic, you can adjust it here!
**Just print out the same data with scaling**
Change your printer setting, depend on your head size. For example, If you print 55cm size pattern with 96% scaling, you got a size about 53cm.
**Use the Inside Tape**
If you feel the cap is too loose, shorten the Inside tape.
Anyway, I strongly recommend to make muslin for perfect fit!
My Trad Sewing PJ
Introduce my old sewing project! It’s Japanese traditional kimono from my home country. But mine is very very casual type and hopefully with modern touch.
These days, kimonos are not really functional and nearly for only special occasions unfortunately, therefore, almost all kimonos we can see are formal type. Basically, formal one is made by fine silk, and beautifully dyed or embroidered. But this is casual, like jeans and sweater, it made by rough wool with woven pattern, “sporty” short sleeve, no lining and coordinate with narrow Obi-belt.
it is sewn by hand stitch, composed straight lines and almost “no waste”.
I was really enjoyed wearing kimonos every weekends, when I lived in Tokyo, and learned a lot from kimono culture, especially about the concept and logic of dress code and manner.
Kimonos are not really functional also here in Amsterdam (cannot ride a bicycle!), but I’m enjoying them sometimes!

*The data size is 100%. Print it without scaling.
*Check the heat resistancy of your paper before you use. I’m using paper like visit card, and print them again when they got worn out.
Any questions or requests are welcome!
Hope you enjoy them and Happy sewing!
